W: Well, the music was OK,but the acting was just so-so.   Text 2 M: What do you think is the most important thing at a school, the courses, the equipment, or something else? W: Well, I don’t think there’s anything more important than the teachers.   Text 3 W: How do you like your new job?  M: I find it very interesting to help patients every day.   W: How nice!   Text 4 W:  Good morning, Sir. May I help you? M: Good morning. How much should I pay for these books to be sent to New York? W:  Hm…five dollars.     Text5 M: My cat can do arithmetic. W: How does he do that? M: Like this. Last Sunday I asked him, ‘What’s 3 minus 3? ’ He said nothing.   Text 6 M: What time do you go to school? W: Eight o'clock. M: And do you go by yourself or on a school bus? W: No, I have a group that goes with me. M: So you go with a group? W: Uh-huh. M: How far is it from your home to the school? W: About five to six kilometers. M: Okay. Where do you have lunch?Do you have lunch in the dining room? W: No,we eat in our classroom. M: That sounds interesting. Then what time do you come home from school? W: We come home sometimes at 3: 00 and sometimes at 2: 00, but we need to stay longer on Thursday because we have a meeting on that day and we can't go home until four o'clock. M: Okay, well, thank you very much. W: You are welcome.   Text 7  W: Don’t you have any good news? M: No, Yesterday I had to stay after school, because I was talking during my biology teacher’s class.  W: You’d better keep quiet during class. M: Sometimes I do. The day before yesterday, I was very quiet during my history teacher’s class and I still had to stay after class. W: I don’t understand. M: Because I fell asleep during his class, but it wasn’t my fault. The lesson was very dull.  W: I advise you to take school more seriously. If you don’t pass your exam, you’ll have to go out and work as a result. M: I don’t think that makes much difference. If I have a job, I have to do dull work every day. But if I’m in school, I must listen to dull teachers every day.   Text 8  W: Friday is a holiday. Let's drive to New York.We could leave on Thursday after work. M: I’m afraid we can’t leave until Friday morning. You see, I've got to get the car fixed. W: A11 right.Shall we take turns driving? M: That's a good idea. It's less tiring that way. W: I’m looking forward to seeing New York. I've never been there. M: Neither have I. so let's make the most of our weekend. W: During the day we can see the places. M: And in the evenings we can go to a play. W: That would be nice, but… M: But what? W: I don't think we will be lucky enough to get tickets. M: Don't worry too much about that! There's always something we can do.   Text 9 W: Now you are admitted in our volunteering group. Your job is to help the old, the weak, the sick, the disabled and the injured to overcome difficulties in many places. M: All right. How many days should I serve, then? W: Oh, volunteering can be a few hours a week or a few hours a month, during the day, or in the evening, also, either part-time or full-time. That depends on your own situation. M: I'm a college student, and I have many courses to attend in the day, so I'd like to choose evenings. W: All right. That's the deal. Thank you for your kindness and efforts. M: Don't mention it. Doing volunteering is an excellent way for me to develop skills beyond school learning. And meanwhile I can build up my working experience for my future career.  W: That's really a sound choice for young people like you.   Text 10 You're listening to the Voice of America. VOA's Alice Clarke reports from Cincinnati. A public competition was held last Friday afternoon in a small town near Cincinnati to find out who could eat the most in the shortest time. A man named Alex Baker succeeded  in setting a new record. In a time given by the judges, Alex ate 2 big bowls of fish soup, a whole chicken, half a goose, 10 eggs cooked in different ways with 10 big pieces of bread and a large cake. Besides all these, Alex finished drinking 20 glasses of beer. After winning the competition, the winner went home with Allan Kninte, a friend of his. As they were coming near his house, Alex suddenly stopped and said, "I say, my friend. Don't tell my wife about the competition until after dinner. I'm afraid she won't give me anything to eat." Alice Clarke, reporter of VOA. 听力部分到此结束,现在你有两分钟的时间将答案转涂到答题卡上。
